The Maclean Electrical Group is a global electrical distribution company specialising in the supply of electrical products, lighting systems and cables for harsh and hazardous environments. Noskab is the specialist cable division of the MacLean Electrical Group and supplies cables for onshore and offshore projects, ensuring each job meets the appropriate international standards and client specification.

“As space is an issue, we needed a quality, hardwearing storage solution that would allow us to store our cable drums in a smaller footprint.”

Due to increased business demands, the Group embarked on an expansion programme for their Aberdeen facility. This purpose built site houses the largest inventory of specialised electrical products and cables for the demanding market and provides a rapid response service for the company’s extensive UK client base.

Maclean Electrical asked Axis, Redirack’s authorised partner in Scotland, to design and create a bespoke solution that would allow for more external storage on site, moving more than 20% of the cable drums into a racking system and freeing up valuable yard space. The system was also needed quickly, which meant installation would take place at the site 500m from the North Sea in some of the harshest weather conditions. Maclean Finance Manager Alan Freeland explained what the company had asked for “As space is an issue, we needed a quality , hardwearing storage solution that would allow us to store our cable drums in a smaller footprint. We had worked with Axis previously and had no hesitation in calling in their help and expertise.”

Redirack had been working with Axis together in Scotland for more than two decades, Sales Manager Billy Wood said: “Here at Axis we have worked with Redirack on many major projects over the years, successfully delivering Pallet Racking solutions on time and on budget – there’s a lot more projects for us together in the future!”
