Pallet Storage Layouts

If you have a new warehouse or storage space, It is good practice to plan out your Pallet Storage Layouts before you proceed with any construction or installation. This can help you save time and prevent any unexpected costs. Take a look at our Layouts guide pictured below to help you decide which layouts could work the best for your warehouse and maximise storage space.

Picking locations is an important term, which needs explaining. There are two ways of locating stock.

  1. Items can be located by goods that come into the first available space, i.e. random location.
  2. Specific locations can be allocated for certain types of goods i.e. specific location.

In a specific location layout, an item numbered 1 will go in the first location and the item numbered 2 will go in the second location, and so on. By using the item stock number obtained from the catalogue or computer printout the location holding the stock can be found. The potential disadvantage of such a good system is that the size of the goods stored varies considerably.
