George Wilkinson (Burnley) Ltd is a famous for the Progress range of housewares. The 4th largest company in the industry, Wilkinson manufactures and sells a wide range of bakeware, cookware, plastics, tools and gadgets.
“They presented their scheme designs well and were very competitive on price and quality.”
Based in Burnley the company exports its products to over 50 countries. Following a fire in June 1997, the company had to build a new warehouse which offers ten times the storage volume of its predecessor, and has a state-of-the-art high bay facility. Designed around a central access aisle two blocks of Redirack racking are arranged to offer the maximum number of storage locations. The scheme has narrow aisles and rises to 12 metres.
Ian Byrom, a director of the company, explains why they chose Redirack for their new warehouse: “They presented their scheme designs well and were very competitive on price and quality. If we asked them for extra drawings they were readily forthcoming. We also like the sacrificial leg, it is a good solution to the problem of racking damage.”
RediRack are full members of SEMA (Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association), with our installation and inspection teams fully SARI (SEMA Approved Rack Inspector), and SEIRS (Storage Equipment Installers Registration Scheme) registered.
